volcano geothermal projects

There are many geothermal power projects around the world located on volcanic systems. Examples of these include Los Azufres, Los Humeros and La Primavera in Mexico; Mori, Matsudawa and Omikobe in Japan; and Kamojang in Indonesia.
The three most reliable surface indicators of large geothermal steam resources are: (1) geologically recent lava flows; (2) steam fumaroles and hot springs; and (3) young volcanoes kept hot by repeated magma intrusions over time. All Vulcan volcano projects have these conditions.
Three Vulcan classic steam volcano projects located on massive volcano flanks include: the Military Pass north flank of Mt. Shasta, California; the west flank of Newberry Crater in Oregon; and the east flank of Mt. Baker in Washington. Additionally, the Aurora, Nevada project has two sizeable young volcanos at the southern end of the property.
