volcano geothermal projects

There are many geothermal power projects around the world located on volcanic systems.  Examples of these include Los Azufres, Los Humeros and La Primavera in Mexico; Mori, Matsudawa and Omikobe  in Japan; and Kamojang in Indonesia. 

The three most reliable surface indicators of large geothermal steam resources are: (1) geologically recent lava flows; (2) steam fumaroles and hot springs; and (3) young volcanoes kept hot by repeated magma intrusions over time.  Vulcan's Mt. Baker volcano project has these conditions.
