These leases are located about 20 miles south of Fallon, Nevada along US Highway 95.   To the south and east lie the Blow Sand Mountains and to the north are the White Throne mountains.  They are 5 miles southwest of Vulcan Salt Wells leases.

An estimated $2.5 million of prior exploration work was completed in the area.  Dr. Combs estimated the 11,000 acres of Vulcan leases can produce from 48 MW to 115 MW.

The Lee Hot Springs have surface water temperature of about 190ºF.  A very shallow 540 ft well discovered 257º F resource. During the late 1970s the Navy Geothermal Program Office drilled five 500-foot geothermal gradient wells south of Lee Hot Springs.  Vulcan is using the results to assist in planning its exploration/development program.

A 230 kV transmission line crosses Vulcan leases.
